This artwork was created using a specimen from the Norsk Entomologisk forening (NEF).

The specimen was observed under a light microscope, and a graphite sketch was created from this.

The sketch was then scanned, and digitally altered using Procreate.

As these species bear a slightly otherwordly and fantasy-like resemblance, this was the inspiration for a collectible card layout.

Multiple sources were used to confirm the shape, markings, colour and overall characteristics of this detailed and delicate species. These included books, websites, and good friends who know lots about bugs.
